The Safari jacket - A perfect summer to autumn jacket

Our new Safari style jacket is a stylish new edition to the Mr Start summer collection. With four pockets on the front, side adjustors and a half belt on the back. We offer it in two colours in linen; khaki green and a light beige and navy blue textured cotton. Borrowed from jackets worn for hunting ‘on safari’ in the African bush in the 1930s and 40s it became a firm favourite with Hollywood stars and game hunter Ernest Hemingway.

It was first made super fashionable by Yves Saint Laurent in Paris in 1967. It has now become a genuine staple in menswear and some times in womenswear, as it is so very versatile and can be worn in so many different ways. From super casual say with a t-shirt and shorts or our perfectly relaxed matching linen drawstring trousers. Dressed up it also looks great with our slightly more formal Shakespeare cotton trousers and a classic Mr Start Drake shirt and a tie or cravat or even a silk scarf.
