The Rivington

The namesake for the address of the first Mr Start store, The Rivington epitomises the very essence of Mr Start style icons. Designed in 2007 as a contemporary alternative to the more traditional suit. Slim fitting with narrow lapels, a slightly shorter jacket and slimmer sleeves creating modernity making this the ideal suit for the contemporary man. Paired with a waistcoat or with dresswear for a more formal feel, the Rivington is one of our most versatile blocks.

The Pitfield

The Pitfield is based on the Rivington but designed to be a more casual, relaxed suit. The unstructured, soft shoulders and slightly more generous fit, it has wider lapels to give an effortless contemporary feel, making this a superbly versatile every day suit.With the right fabric choice, the Pitfield works perfectly as separates too.

The Hoxton

Now, the Hoxton is a similar fit to the Pitfield, but has a wider lapel and is available with a soft shoulder or a more elevated shoulder which creates a more formal look. Can be easily paired with a waistcoat for a more formal occasion, making it an ideal semi formal suit.

The Leonard

The Leonard, with its stronger, more defined structured lines, is our most classical suit and yet maintains an unapologetic modern feel, especially if it's in the one button fastening. With a structured shoulder, wide classic lapel or peak lapel coupled with a curved sleeve for a sleek shape The 'Leonard' provides a strong silhouette.This is most definitely the nearest to a classic Savile Row suit. This shape has come back in fashion.

Our custom made to measure service helps you create a suit, jacket or trouser perfectly styled and fitted just for you. There are many aspects we will help you consider. Choose from an exquisite selection of luxury wool, silk and cashmere blends from Italy and the UK, or stunning lightweight linens and silk blends for a luxury summer suit.

Everything is on our cutting table to be styled with your personality in mind.

01. The Shoulder Shape

Defines the structure and outline of the jacket Soft shoulder pads are soft fitting, gentle and provide a more casual look, Semi soft shoulders, which gives a very slightly more structured yet still soft shape, full pad creates
a more formal shape

02. The Lapels

Peak lapel, Shawl lapel, Notch lapel are all options, all can subtly change the dynamic of your suit

03. The Buttons

All styles available in one or two buttons, or more for double breasted. Your choice of button can create a dramatic difference to the finished suit or jacket. We have a great selection of horn, corozo and poly buttons to choose from, and can also do covered buttons.

04. The Lining

There are three options when it comes to linings.

  • Fully-lined; the whole inside of the jacket is lined
  • Part-lined; the sleeves, jacket sides and the upper back area is lined, looks great and makes it a bit lighter to wear.
  • Deconstruct; no lining except for the sleeves in our deconstructed model, which gives a very soft handle

05. The Trouser

The style and design of the trouser can dramatically change your look. Here is a quick synopsis of what to consider when selecting your trouser:

  • Flat front, with slim hems which is our most popular style
  • Pleated for a fuller modern fit
  • Wider fit, flat front and wide all the way down to the hem

The Process

Throughout your one hour appointment we will guide you through the fun and enjoyable process of designing your very own custom made tailored suit, jacket or trouser. The result is a garment that will speak to your character and fit exactly as you want it to.

Timescales

We are able to offer a unique 3 week guaranteed delivery from commencement. Allow at least 6 weeks so you can relax and take care of the other details.
