You were recently spotted at an event looking great wearing Mr. Start, how long have you been a friend of Mr. Start?
‘We met in 2008 at an event in the Mayfair Hotel during fashion week and instantly got on. I was wearing my original Mr. Start dark blue suit which was made for me to wear photographing at 10 Downing Street.’
Philip recently made you a new suit, what was it for?
‘My latest bespoke Mr Start suit was made for me to wear at my birthday party last year.’
How was the made to measure experience, why did you choose this particular suit?
‘I love the fine fabrics of Italy and chose a wool flannel fine chalk stripe, a single white mother of pearl button and a half lining for extra comfort which was closely advised by Philip and his excellent fitting skills and knowledge.’
'The style of the Hoxton suit from Mr. Starts ready to wear collection is a favourite of mine'
How was the time frame, from your appointment to collection of the suit?
‘It took 8 weeks from my appointment to collection, I had a second fitting which was perfect, all that needed finishing was the trouser hem.’
How else have you worn your bespoke suit?
‘I wore the trousers separately during AW19 Pitti L’Oumo where it gave me a lot of attention. I paired it with a classic Mr. Start merino wool dark green roll neck and an overcoat. Both pieces work really well as seperates, it is so versatile’
What is it you like about the fit?
‘The style of the Hoxton suit from the Mr. Start ready to wear collection is a favourite of mine, for its slightly wider lapel, it suits my shape really well, so I wanted to base the style on that .’
Were there any particular details you requested?
‘Yes, Columbia stitching to match the main cloth, I love the finer details. I chose to have two side vents, as opposed to one single vent at the centre back and one button on the cuff, instead of the usual three.
